Our story

At Meals on Wheels Kitsap, we do more than deliver meals—we provide a lifeline, connection, and peace of mind for seniors in Kitsap County.

Since 1973, we have been committed to supporting older adults and others with health or hunger needs by delivering nutritious meals, offering community dining opportunities, and providing volunteer-driven support services.

Our volunteer drivers are more than meal deliverers—they are a trusted presence in our clients’ lives. While delivering meals, they spend a few minutes visiting and performing a visual safety check to ensure seniors are safe and well in their homes. In cases of concern, whether a fall, illness, or other emergency, we act immediately—calling 911 or reaching out to family members to make sure help is on the way. Meals on Wheels Kitsap is the eyes and ears, the safety net, and the knock on the door our seniors rely on.

For adult children living outside Kitsap County, we provide consistent check-ins on their loved ones, ensuring families have peace of mind.

We also operate community dining meal sites for adults 60 and older, offering hot, nutritious meals in a welcoming environment. Many clients come for the social interaction, activities, and companionship, which help keep minds sharp and spirits high. Volunteers at our meal sites also watch for concerns and can contact family or friends if needed. Meals on Wheels Kitsap is a resource, a support system, and a caring community.
