Our Mission

Meals on Wheels Kitsap provides meals, nutrition and support services to improve the quality of life for seniors and others with health and hunger needs in Kitsap County.

We are excited that you have stopped in to visit our "Miles 4 Meals" page and thank you for participating in this inaugural event. We appreciate that you have chosen to support the work that we do!

Because of you, men and women aged 60 years and older throughout Kitsap County are able to live independently with dignity in their own homes. They receive healthy, nutritious meals and more either available for curbside pick up at selected community dining sites or if they are medically-homebound, directly delivered to their homes by caring volunteers.

Meals on Wheels Kitsap has been serving Kitsap County seniors since our founding 47 years ago. And just as our tagline reads, we really do provide "more than a meal". Many of our clients have little to no family contact and look forward to the social interaction at community dining sites or during their visits with home delivered meals program staff and volunteers.

This year, because of COVID-19, it was necessary for us to cancel our annual Whale of a Run fundraiser and we didn't know how we would replace the funding lost by not holding the event.

So, we were very excited when Miles 4 Meals presenting sponsor, Kitsap Physical Therapy and Sports Clinics, approached us and asked if they could present and sponsor this event to benefit our organization.

We wish to thank the wonderful members of the Miles for Meals Committee for their leadership and contributions to this great event: Jarel Bakke, Jennifer Briant, Dave Damon, Aaron Perez, and Ceci Sittser of Kitsap Physical Therapy and Andy Arrants, Lynn Grellner, Deborah Horn, Bert Rinderle and Amy Weissman of Meals on Wheels Kitsap.
